PAVILION SQUARE

2012

In this design studio, the relationship between an architecture project and its context have been studied in three different scales from the large scale of city to the small scale internal issues of the project topic.

The population stream that surrounded this area from four sides and also some important buildings located in the neighborhood made it look like a square. According to the population stream which tended to cross this site from it’s diameter and also the importance of edges for the site’s boundary to be seen, the site’s ground plane was folded from it’s diameter. In the next step, in order to form a reaction to the parameters like view, light and access, the site’s uplifted edge was transformed according to external parameters like it’s neighborhood skyline. And in the last step parameters that came out from the project’s own nature like functions and internal circulations were taken into consideration.
